GUWAHATI: In a heartwarming display of solidarity and support, the Gajraj Corps organised a grand rally for ex-servicemen at Tamulpur on March 10.
Drawing a crowd of over 1500 ex-servicemen and their dependents from the districts of Lower Assam, the event, themed “Hamesha Apno ke Sath” (Always with Loved Ones), aimed to address the pressing issues faced by veterans and their families, including pensions, medical provisions, and welfare schemes.
The event provided an array of facilities and services under one roof, ensuring convenience and accessibility for the attendees.
Representatives from various organisations, including the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA) in Prayagraj, Record Offices, and Zilla Sainik Boards, were on hand to address and resolve issues related to pensions and emoluments promptly.
Medical assistance and access to Canteen Stores Department (CSD) facilities were also made available through medical camps and CSD outlets, catering to the healthcare needs of the veterans and their families.
Moreover, the rally featured outlets by Pragati Edutech showcasing employment opportunities, a Kisan Jagrukta camp, and extensions of nationalised banks, offering additional support and resources to the attendees.
Additionally, the event provided an opportunity for eligible wards of veterans to register in the Agniveer scheme, further enhancing their prospects and future opportunities.
The rally marked by the heartfelt felicitation of veer naris, veer matas, and war veterans, recognising their sacrifices and contributions to the nation.
Furthermore, the provision of wheelchairs to differently-abled veterans underscored the Army’s dedication to ensuring their comfort and well-being.
