GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on the evening of February 3.
The subsequent day, he will lay the foundation stone for several developmental initiatives and inauguarte a slew of key projects.
“He will also take part in a roadshow before addressing a public meeting at the Veterinary College Field, Khanapara on February 4. Today’s Assam cabinet also discussed the Prime Minister’s visit,” a national news agency quoted Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah, on Wednesday.
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Guwahati on February 3, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that the Prime Minister will be inaugurating projects worth over Rs 11,000 crore during his visit.
In preparation for the visit, Chief Minister Sarma informed to have chaired meetings with various state departments on January 31 at Lok Sewa Bhawan. The discussions revolved around reviewing arrangements for the visit and ensuring its seamless execution.
The Prime Minister’s last visit to Assam was in April last year, where he inaugurated and laid the groundwork for projects worth Rs 14,500 crore.
In 2023, apart from inaugurating the AIIMS in the state, Modi had launched three hospitals in Assam.
This visit, anticipated to be Modi’s final one before the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, has drawn widespread attention, fuelling expectations of significant announcements.
