Reacting to the police complaint filed by AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi concerning a now-deleted video, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that he has no objection to being arrested.
He reiterated his position that he remains firmly opposed to what he described as Bangladeshi infiltration.
Addressing the matter, CM Sarma said, “I am ready to go to jail, what can I do? I do not know anything about any video. If he has filed a case against me, arrest me; what objection do I have? I have no objection. But I stand by my words, I am against Bangladeshi infiltrators and I will continue to be against them.”
Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday lodged a complaint with Hyderabad police demanding immediate criminal action against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma over a now-deleted purported video shared on social media.

The video, which was posted by the Assam BJP on ‘X’ and later removed, allegedly showed Sarma taking aim with a rifle and firing a shot at two individuals, one wearing a skull cap and the other sporting a beard—with the caption “point-blank shot.”
Lodging a complaint with Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar against Sarma the Hyderabad MP accused the Assam Chief Minister of promoting enmity between two religious communities and making imputations which are prejudicial to national integration.
He wrote that for the last several years, Sarma has been continuously making statements against the Muslims community through social media, print media, public speeches and other platforms. Many such speeches are still available in the public domain.
