GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate the eighth edition of the Rozgar Mela, extending his address to 45 locations nationwide on August 28. In Guwahati, the event will be helmed by former Assam Chief Minister and current Union Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, at the Border Security Force (BSF) Frontier Headquarters located in Patgaon.
Concurrently, Union Minister Rameshwar Teli, overseeing Petroleum and Natural Gas, Labour, and Employment, will lead the proceedings at the BSF Frontier Headquarters in Silchar, situated in the Cachar district. As part of the Mela, Guwahati and Silchar will hand out 287 and 150 appointment letters respectively.
With the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) spearheading the recruitment drive, the Rozgar Mela aims to fill positions across various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). These include renowned units like the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), BSF, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and Delhi Police. The broad spectrum of positions available ranges from Constable (General Duty) to Sub-Inspector (GD) and extends to Non-GD Cadre Posts in MHA-affiliated organizations.
Under the umbrella of the government’s “mission recruitment”, the Rozgar Mela stands as a beacon of job opportunities, facilitating the distribution of appointment letters to countless Indian youths each month.
Earlier in April, PM Modi, through a virtual ceremony, conferred around 71,000 appointment letters to newly selected recruits. During this event, he took the opportunity to address and inspire the newly-inducted workforce.
Furthermore, new appointees will benefit from the Karmayogi Prarambh initiative—an online orientation programme tailored for fresh recruits in various government departments, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge as they embark on their careers.
As the country anticipates a significant boost in employment rates, the event also promises to empower the youth, channeling their potential towards India’s holistic development.
