GUWAHATI: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA), Guwahati, has launched its inaugural official magazine, LGBIA CHRONICLE, at a ceremony held at the airport’s auditorium, recently.
The launch was officiated by Chief Airport Officer Utpal Barua in the presence of senior officers from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Guwahati International Airport Limited (GIAL).
The LGBIA CHRONICLE showcases a lively array of content, including a comprehensive history of the airport from its inception to the present day.
The magazine, edited by Corporate Communication Officer Ruma Devi of GIAL, aims to be the voice of the airport, encapsulating its growth trajectory, development plans, and future vision.
Speaking at the launch, Barua highlighted the significance of the publication, saying, “The magazine is expected to serve as the mouthpiece of the airport. There has never been a documented history of the first airport in the Northeast. The magazine attempts to present the history of the airport, its growth trajectory, and development plans.”
A highlight of the event was the felicitation of contributing writers, including senior journalist Jayanta Kalita, who authored articles for the publication.
The LGBIA CHRONICLE is set to become a vital resource for documenting the airport’s journey, providing insights into its operations, developments, and future aspirations.
