Guwahati: The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, the only international air gateway in Northeast India, continues to operate normally, albeit under enhanced security protocols, according to an official statement released on Saturday by airport authorities.
The airport, managed by the Adani Group, reassured passengers that operations remain unaffected but advised travellers to arrive well in advance of their scheduled departures to accommodate the extended time required for security screenings and other formalities.
“The airport is fully operational. However, due to the implementation of heightened security procedures, passengers may experience increased waiting times,” the statement read.
“We strongly recommend planning your arrival accordingly and coordinating directly with your respective airlines for the latest updates.”
In a bid to streamline the travel experience and minimize inconvenience, authorities issued a set of guidelines for travellers.
These include arriving early, allowing sufficient time for thorough security checks, and cooperating with security personnel at all times.
Passengers were also encouraged to stay informed through the airport’s official social media channels, which will provide timely and accurate updates.

Furthermore, travellers were reminded not to carry prohibited or restricted items, and to consult with their airline if uncertain about baggage regulations.
The airport also cautioned against spreading or relying on unverified information, urging the public to verify details through official sources.
The emphasis on upgraded security procedures comes as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and smooth functioning of the airport while maintaining efficient passenger service.
