Guwahati: Green School International in Guwahati hosted a vibrant two-day annual function on December 20 and 21, 2024, with the theme “Chitto Binodito Axom,” celebrating the rich cultural heritage, history, and natural beauty of Assam.

The event brought together students, parents, and the local community to showcase the state’s traditions, cultural diversity, and breathtaking landscapes.

The program kicked off with captivating performances by the school’s Eco-Champs, who highlighted Assam’s unique blend of cultures and its abundant natural resources.

Through a series of dances, music, drama, and art displays, students from various grades brought to life the essence of Assam, inspiring appreciation for its beauty and traditions.

A standout feature of the event was the cultural performances, with the stage coming alive through energetic traditional Assamese folk dances, contemporary styles, and vibrant costumes.

The school choir’s rendition of regional and national songs resonated with patriotism, while the drama segment, “Voices of Tomorrow,” focused on environmental issues, reflecting Green School’s commitment to sustainability and global awareness.

As part of the school’s zero-waste initiative, Grade 11 students led efforts to manage waste segregation, ensuring a more eco-friendly celebration.

Their hard work in separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials played a significant role in minimizing waste and promoting sustainable practices at the event.

The Annual Function also provided an opportunity for parents and the community to engage with the school.

Parents expressed pride in the school’s focus on nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and social responsibility among its students.

In her address, Principal Mousumi Ganguly emphasized the importance of viewing the performances with love, compassion, and encouragement rather than perfection.
