Guwahati: The inaugural phase of the Governor Assam’s Rashtriya Suraksha Protsahan Yojana was launched in Guwahati on Wednesday, aiming to equip the youth with awareness and skills related to national security.
The event, held at Navdeep Hall in Narangi Cantonment, brought together 250 NCC cadets from various units in the city.
Conceptualised by Raj Bhavan Assam and implemented in collaboration with the National Cadet Corps (NCC), the initiative seeks to educate students across 35 districts on pressing security concerns.
The programme aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat” and “Vikshit Bharat,” emphasising the importance of an alert and security-conscious youth population.
The campaign addresses topics such as cyber security, terrorism, border protection, and disaster management while fostering leadership and nationalism among participants.
The first phase, organised by the 60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC, included expert talks and practical training sessions conducted by esteemed organisations.
The Army Recruiting Office in Guwahati guided cadets on NDA and SSB preparation, while the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted a session on disaster management.

The Cyber Security Cell of the Guwahati Police offered insights into tackling cyber threats, and NIBUS Academy, represented by Wing Commander Vikas Bargat, provided guidance on armed forces recruitment.
Cadets expressed their excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to learn from experts.
Many noted that the sessions deepened their understanding of career opportunities in the armed forces and highlighted the importance of contributing to national security.
The program, implemented with support from the District Administration, NCC Group Headquarters, and 27 NCC units, underscores the Honourable Governor’s vision of prioritising national security and fostering a “Nation First” ethos.
