GUWAHATI: Acknowledging their commitment to passenger satisfaction, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) in Assam proudly announced Rangiya and Mariani railway stations as “Eat Right Stations”.
The “Eat Right Station” certification, conferred by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), has been awarded the two said stations for providing high-quality food to the passengers, a statement released by NFR stated on Thursday.
The certification was bestowed upon Rangiya Railway Station for its exceptional food services from September 25, while Mariani Railway Station earned this distinction for its outstanding, ongoing efforts since October 19.
Both the stations demonstrated a firm commitment to upholding the strict guidelines established by the FSSAI, making them exemplary models for other railway stations in the region to follow.
Moreover, following the success of these two railways stations, the NFR has pledged to expand the scope of this initiative by striving to qualify more stations as “Eat Right Stations”.
This proactive step of the NFR to ensuring safe and hygienic food for its passengers has been hailed by railway passengers and currently, the NFR is actively engaged in making the necessary efforts to meet the FSSAI’s standards at additional stations in the Northeast.
These recent certifications follow the previous successes of Guwahati, Harishchandrapur, and Lumding Railway Stations under the NFR umbrella, which had earlier received the said certification from the FSSAI.
The “Eat Right Station” certification is a coveted accolade that acknowledges railway stations’ adherence to standard food storage and hygiene practices. It recognises those stations that set high benchmarks in providing safe, wholesome, and nutritious food to passengers.
As the railway continues to expand this initiative to more stations in the future, it is left to be seen if the NFR would be able to replicate the Rangiya and Mariani model at other railways stations in the state vis-à-vis the region.
