Guwahati: A foreign national has alleged that she and a companion were subjected to harassment during American rapper Post Malone’s concert in Guwahati, raising concerns over crowd safety at large public events.
The allegation was made by Emma, a backpacking travel vlogger, through a video shared on social media.
She claimed that she and her friend, Amina, were “touched without consent” while attending the concert held at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara, marking Post Malone’s first performance in India.
According to Emma, the incident occurred shortly after they entered the concert area, forcing them to leave the crowd within minutes and move closer to vendor stalls where they felt safer.
She said the experience prevented them from enjoying the show and described the incident as more than routine crowd pressure, linking it to broader issues of harassment faced by women in public spaces.
Despite the alleged incident, Emma clarified that it should not be seen as a reflection of Guwahati as a whole.
She said the pair had otherwise experienced warmth and hospitality during their stay and acknowledged individuals at the venue who helped them move to safety.

In comments on the post, Amina echoed the account, stating that several people intervened to assist them.
“We came for the concert and did not expect such harassment,” she wrote, while also appreciating those who stepped in to help.
Guwahati Police said no formal complaint has been lodged by the women so far, but authorities are examining the matter based on the social media posts.
The incident triggered widespread reactions online, with several users expressing support for the women and apologising for their experience, while others criticised attempts to downplay the allegations.
Post Malone performed in Guwahati recently as part of his India tour. During the concert, he paid tribute to Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, who passed away in September.
