GUWAHATI: As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance communication skills and promote biodiversity conservation, a specialised workshop titled, “Essentials of Digital Post-Processing in Wildlife Photography” was conducted in Guwahati on Sunday.

Organised by Aaranyak, a biodiversity conservation organisation, the workshop served as a platform for enthusiasts and professionals alike to delve into the intricacies of digital post-processing techniques tailored specifically for wildlife photography.

Coordinated by Aaranyak’s Media Production and Communications Division, the session covered a wide range of topics aimed at refining participants’ understanding of image-making using digital tools.

Led by Udayan Borthakur, a senior scientist at Aaranyak and an accomplished wildlife photographer, the workshop provided valuable insights into various aspects of post-processing.

Participants were guided through essential techniques, including the ethical considerations of image manipulation, image management and cataloguing, as well as handling RAW files and leveraging tools like Adobe Lightroom.

The session was meticulously organised and facilitated by Munmita Boruah, manager of the Media Production and Communications Division, and Chinmoy Swargiary, Documentation & Production officer of Aaranyak.

Their expertise ensured a seamless and enriching learning experience for all attendees.

By equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance their wildlife photography through digital post-processing, Aaranyak continues to empower individuals to effectively communicate the importance of biodiversity conservation through captivating visuals.
