Guwahati: Medical Education and Research Department and Assam government on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Association with Regional Centre (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) for treatment of ex-servicemen in the state.
As per the agreement, ex-servicemen and their family members will get free treatment in eight medical college and hospitals and all cancer centres under Assam Cancer Care Foundation.
Now, ex-servicemen can avail cashless and high quality medical care with no cap on expenses closer to their homes.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, health minister Keshab Mahanta and GOC-in C of Eastern Command Lt Gen Rana Pratap Kalita were present on the occasion.
