Guwahati: Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, paid a courtesy visit to Assam governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday (June 12).
He was accompanied by Lieutenant General Sanjay Malik, General Officer Commanding, 101 Area, and Major General RD Sharma.
The high-level interactions underscored the critical importance of fostering robust military-civil cooperation to strengthen the foundation of peace and development in Assam.
Discussions focused on enhancing synergy with the state’s civil administration, undertaking welfare initiatives for ex-servicemen, and reinforcing collaborative efforts aimed at maintaining regional tranquility and progress.
Both the governor and the chief minister expressed their profound appreciation for the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to national security and its proactive involvement in various developmental and welfare programs within the state.
