Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will chair an important session on the role of ‘I-Ways in Viksit Assam’ during the upcoming ‘Advantage Assam 2’ summit.
Taking to his microblogging site X, the chief minister stated, “Glad to have met Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @JM_Scindia ji in Delhi today. I am happy to share that he will chair a session on the role of ‘I-Ways in Viksit Assam’ during #AdvantageAssam2.”

This session will bring together key stakeholders and the best minds in the communication and tech industry to help us formulate an Assam-specific strategy for building Information Highways in the state, he said.
The chief minister also met Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi on Monday.
CM Sarma said, “We are grateful for his consent to drive forward the session on Hyrdocarbons and Energy at #AdvantageAssam2.”
“We spoke at length on how Assam had an early mover advantage in the Oil industry but the full potential remains untapped,” he said.
He further stated, “Our joint effort is to ensure #AdvantageAssam2 serves as the enabling platform to harness Assam’s energy potential in a sustainable manner through cross collaboration between key stakeholders.”
The union minister said that matters pertaining to the energy sector in Assam with a particular focus on components of India’s journey towards energy security and green transition were discussed during the meeting.
CM Sarma also said that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given her consent to chair the valedictory session of the Advantage Assam 2 Summit.

The ‘Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025’ will be held in Guwahati on February 25-26. This event marks the largest investment promotion and facilitation initiative by the Assam government.
