Guwahati: Assam’s Senior Under Officer Aryamitra Nath was conferred with the Raksha Mantri Padak for his exceptional performance and dedication to duty during the investiture ceremony held at the ongoing NCC Republic Day Camp in New Delhi on Monday.

Nath, who hails from Soraibahi village in Morigaon district, along with Under Officer Theja V P of Kerala were honoured by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh with the prestigious Defence Minister’s Medal.

In his address, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the NCC cadets as a reflection of India.

“These cadets hail from different regions, speak different languages, and follow different customs and traditions, but the one thing which is common in them is ‘unity’,” he said.

“Their energy and enthusiasm is proof that India’s future is bright,” he added.

The ceremony was followed by an exceptional band display by the NCC cadets of Mizo High School, Aizawl.

Aryamitra, born on December 17, 2002, to Himkalyan Nath and Anima Devi, has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to public service.

Following his academic journey at Sankardev Vidya Niketan, Soraibahi; Chanakya Junior College, Nagaon; and Morigaon College, Aryamitra embarked on a quest for advanced mountaineering expertise.

He has completed rigorous training programs, including the Basic Mountaineering Course at ABVIMAS, Manali, the Advanced Mountaineering Course at NIMAS, Dirang, and the Methods of Instruction course at NIMAS.

Singh stated that cadets, regardless of the fields they work in, contribute to nation-building through qualities like ‘leadership,’ ‘discipline,’ ‘ambition,’ and ‘patriotism’ nurtured by NCC.
