Guwahati: Dassault Systèmes, the technology arm of Paris-based Dassault Group, will set up an aerospace and defence automotive electric vehicle training hub in Assam.
This was announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday.
Sarma said, “The Assam cabinet meeting has cleared the project whereby a company of Dassault which looks after Rafeal aircraft, 3D printing and works on new generation technology will set up aerospace and defence automotive electric vehicle training hub in Assam.”
The training hub will focus on upskilling youth in Assam on the latest technologies in the aerospace, defence, and automotive electric vehicle sectors.
It is part of Dassault’s efforts to support projects with high social impact and complement the nation-building efforts of the Assam government.
He stated that this initiative will attract young people in Assam to pursue careers in the aviation, defense, aerospace, and automotive electric vehicle engineering industries.
The project will have a total cost of Rs 240 crore, with the company investing approximately Rs 200 crore and the state government contributing Rs 40 crore.
This collaboration comes shortly after TATA Technologies, a global engineering and product development digital services company, signed an agreement with the Assam government to transform 34 polytechnics and 43 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into futuristic Centres of Excellence (COEs).
Tata Technologies will invest approximately Rs 2,390 crore in this 10-year project.
“A centre of excellence will be established in Assam Engineering college; this will be the hub. From here around 50 colleges in Assam will be trained through the spoke model.”
He added that the company works in AI, robotics, defence, digital platforms and is a leading technology organization in the world.
These initiatives by Dassault and TATA Technologies aim to provide the best possible technology training ecosystem in Assam, enabling the youth to stay aligned with the skillsets required in the future, innovate new technology solutions in the state, and attract investments from companies into Assam.
