Guwahati: The timeless creations of legendary Assamese musician Bhupen Hazarika captivated a global audience at the ongoing World Expo in Japan, as part of his birth centenary celebrations.
A special programme was hosted at the India Pavilion’s multi-purpose hall, highlighting Hazarika’s artistic journey and contributions to music, culture and society.
The event aimed to present his creative legacy to an international stage during this landmark year.
Cultural artistes from Assam paid tribute to Hazarika through vibrant performances, including dance interpretations of his iconic songs such as Mahabahu Brahmaputra, Moi Eti Zazabor and Manuhe Manuhor Babe.
These renditions reflected the essence of his compositions — rooted in nature, rich in cultural vibrancy and infused with universal humanism.
