Barpeta: The Barpeta District Administration is gearing up to implement the “Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan” initiative from June 15 to 30, 2025.
This nationwide campaign seeks to deliver key welfare schemes to the tribal population directly at their doorstep.
A preparatory meeting was held on Monday at the District Commissioner’s Conference Hall, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Geetashri Lachit, ACS.
During the meeting, Circle Officers were instructed to identify tribal-dominated areas within their jurisdictions and organise camps in every revenue circle.
Line departments were also directed to set up stalls and conduct awareness activities at the camps.
Designated locations across all blocks in the district have been earmarked to host these events, ensuring wide accessibility for beneficiaries.
The campaign will provide a range of services, including Aadhaar card registration, ration card enrollment, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY) benefits, caste certificate issuance, Kisan Credit Card distribution, PM-Kisan enrollment, Jan Dhan account registration, and pensions for old age, widowhood, and disability categories.

The initiative, aimed at tribal empowerment and enhancing last-mile delivery of welfare programs, underscores the district administration’s focus on inclusivity and community participation.
