Guwahati: Advik Medhi is just 9 years old, and has been awarded Black Belt 1st Dan and that made him one of the youngest Black Belt holders in Assam.
He has been awarded the Black belt by Traditional Shoto- Kai Karate Federation of India.
The Black belt examination was conducted under the supervision of Rensai Amit Gupta, 6th Dan Black belt (WKF). He was the student of Sensai Afgal Khan of Noida.
Advik started practicing Taekwando at the age of 3 and represented India in International Taekwondo championship winning Silver and Bronze medal for India. Later, he shifted to Karate.
The nine-year-old student of South Point School has recently been selected to represent India in Nestle Milo Karate Championship to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in June this year.
Advik is the son of Anupam Medhi and Ranjita Sarania of Ambari Fatasil.
