Guwahati: In a what may be termed a proud and progressive milestone for Northeast India, Jingshai Enterprise has successfully flagged off its first international air shipment of 2,100 kg of premium, naturally cultivated pineapples to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) via Air India from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI), Guwahati.
This export marks the beginning of a strategic initiative to ship over 50 metric tonnes (MT) of chemical-free and organically grown products from the Northeast to key global markets, including Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.
This significant achievement was made possible under the visionary leadership and personal encouragement of Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, whose unwavering support and foresight—guided by the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma—has opened new doors for agricultural transformation and export-oriented growth from Assam.
Tiranga Bharatiya Borah also played an important role in mentoring farmers and ensuring their readiness for international quality standards.
“This export is more than a shipment—it is a result of the vision, commitment, and tireless effort of Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, who continues to inspire us with his focus on farmer empowerment and global outreach. We extend our heartfelt thanks to him, APEDA, FIEO, and all stakeholders involved,” said Rajiv Medhi of Jingshai Enterprise.
He said that with more global consignments lined up, Jingshai Enterprise will continue to carry the identity of the region forward—ensuring international recognition for its sustainable agricultural excellence.
“Jingshai is proud to be a bridge between the farms of Assam and the markets of the world, and this is just the beginning. We are committed to showcasing Northeast India’s strength through our chemical-free and organic produce,” Medhi said.
The flag-off ceremony, which took place on July 31, was attended by Mostakim Hussain, SDAO-cum-Assistant Nodal Officer, MOVCDNER, Directorate of Horticulture & Food Processing, Assam; Jotin Thokchom, Business Development Manager (Overseas), Manipur Middle East Foodstuff LLC; Keisham Cha Sanahan, Director, MANEF; Tombi Seram, Director, HELFINCH; Rajib Jana, Operations Head, HELFINCH; Kaushik Dutta, Head (North East), Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), among others.
Notably, Jingshai Enterprise in April this year sent a consignment of 1,000 kg of ‘Joha Rice’ to Vietnam. The consignment in April was the first consignment of Assam’s famed aromatic Joha rice to be exported to Vietnam by Jingshai Enterprise.
