GUWAHATI: IAS officers Dr Ravi Kota and Prashant Kumar Singh have been empanelled for Secretary/Secretary equivalent level positions by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) in the Government of India.
Dr. Kota, a seasoned bureaucrat from the 1993 batch of the Assam cadre, currently holds the position of Chief Secretary of Assam.
With a distinguished career spanning several key roles, Dr Kota has showcased exceptional leadership and administrative skills.
He previously served as the Additional Chief Secretary for the Home & Political Department, overseeing critical areas such as Passport and Prisons.
Additionally, he managed the Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department, as well as the Finance Department, demonstrating versatility and competence in various domains.
Joining Dr Kota in this prestigious empanelment is IAS officer Singh, who hails from the Manipur cadre and also belongs to the 1993 batch.
Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Singh brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise.
His previous roles include serving as the Principal Secretary and CEO of the Election Department in Manipur, where he managed vital departments such as Urban Development, Public Health Engineering, Personnel, and General Administration.
The empanelment of Dr. Kota and Singh for Secretary-level positions highlights the government’s recognition of their outstanding contributions and leadership abilities.
Their appointments are expected to further bolster the administrative machinery of the country, as they bring with them a wealth of knowledge, experience, and dedication to public service.
