GUWAHATI: Krishangi Kashyap, a former student of Bhattadev University, Bajali, has been selected to attend NASA’s prestigious “55th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference” scheduled to be held in Texas, USA from March 11.

NASA has recognised Krishangi’s research work titled – “Surface and Subsurface Regolith Characterisation of Lunar South Pole using Chandrayaan-2 Dual-frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar”.

She has been selected to deliver a presentation on her research findings during the four-day 55th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, a press release issued by the university on Tuesday said.

The conference is expected to be conducted in a blended mode, with Krishangi presenting her work virtually.

Krishangi, who was a student of the Department of Physics at Bhattadev University from the 2018-2021 batch, is currently pursuing her MSc. in Astronomy from IIT Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Krishangi credits her success to the guidance and mentorship provided by Dr. Unmesh Khati, Assistant Professor at IIT, Indore, Department of Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Space Engineering, under whose supervision she conducted her research.

Congratulating Krishangi on her extraordinary accomplishment, Dr. Birinchi Kumar Das, the Vice-Chancellor of Bhattadev University, expressed his pride and admiration for her achievement.
