Barpeta (Assam): Guardian Minister of Barpeta, Chandramohan Patowary, conducted a comprehensive review of the Arunudoy scheme’s implementation at the District Commissioner’s Office.
The review meeting, attended by MLAs, the Deputy Commissioner, DDC, CEO of Zilla Parishad, social workers, and key officials, focused on identifying challenges in the scheme’s execution and exploring solutions to enhance its effectiveness.
As part of his visit, the minister distributed sports equipment worth Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh in cash to youth clubs across each Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC), reinforcing the government’s commitment to promoting sports and youth development in the district.
Highlighting Barpeta’s strong sporting tradition, particularly in volleyball, Patowary emphasised the significance of the upcoming Ram Rai stadium in nurturing future sports talent.
He expressed confidence in the district’s potential to produce international-level athletes, akin to Hima Das, and assured continued state support for their growth.
In a bid to boost digital education, Patowary distributed tablets to mentees under the Assam government’s Arohan programme.
These devices will provide students with access to digital learning resources, aiding their academic and skill development.
Encouraging students to embrace digital literacy, he underscored the importance of self-improvement through online platforms and innovation.
The minister also inaugurated a Health & Wellness Camp at Keoutkuchi High School, where over 500 patients received specialised medical services from doctors of FAAMCH and Barpeta Civil Hospital.

The camp provided consultations in gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, and other fields. Public health awareness was promoted through stalls on family planning, nutrition, and disease prevention, while a yoga session focused on overall well-being.
Additionally, 16 TB Mukt Panchayats were felicitated for their efforts in tuberculosis elimination, highlighting the district’s commitment to public health initiatives.
