Barpeta: The Barpeta District Administration in Assam is making extensive preparations for the upcoming zonal phase of Khel Maharan 2.0, aiming for a smooth and successful event.
On January 27, 2024, a key meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha, with key stakeholders in attendance, including the CEO of Zilla Parishad, the ADC (Sports), District Sports Officer, physical instructors, and representatives from various departments.
During the meeting, participants discussed logistical challenges and other concerns, with DC Jha assuring full support to ensure the games proceed seamlessly.
The district-level competition, featuring 1,040 participants, is scheduled for February 3, 4, and 5.
The event will culminate with a closing ceremony on February 5, to be attended by the Guardian Minister of Barpeta.
Emphasizing the importance of maintaining the high standards set during the LAC-level competitions, officials assured that all necessary measures are in place to avoid any incidents.
Additional steps have been taken to address logistical concerns, ensuring compliance with the guidelines established by the Government of Assam.

The Additional Superintendent of Police has confirmed that adequate security will be provided for the event, while the Health Department has guaranteed the presence of ambulances and first-aid teams to support the participants.
The Municipality Playground in Barpeta will host athletics, kabaddi, volleyball, and chess competitions, while football matches will be held at the Barpeta Government Higher Secondary Playground.
The initial rounds of the competition saw over 25,000 participants from across the district, setting the stage for what promises to be a well-organised and successful district-level championship.
