Guwahati: Well-known author and veteran Assamese journalist Manoj Kumar Goswami has been selected for Sahitya Akademi Award 2022.
Goswami was conferred Sahitya Academy Award for his book Bhul-Satya (Mistake-Truth). The book was published in 2017 by Bookbell Publishing.
Goswami’s literary career began with a series of short story collections including Iswarhinata and Premhinata. He is also the author of the popular novel Anadi Aru Annyana.
Some of other popular books written by Goswami are: Samiran Baruah Ahi Ase, Virus Aru Anyanya, Pasjon Bondhu, Aluminum Anguli and Rajneetir Aliye-Goliye.
In 1994, Goswami had won the prestigious Katha Award for Creative Fiction and in 1996 he won the Sanskriti Award for Literature.
Goswami’s popular short story The Vulture was included in Our Favourite Indian Stories [2002] by the great writer, Khushwant Singh.
Manoj Kumar Goswami has worked with several newspapers and satellite television channels in Assam.
At present, he is chief editor of Assamese daily Amar Asom and NKTV 24×7, an Assamese satellite news channel.
