GUWAHATI: Ahead of its May 17 release, the Assamese movie Jiya unveiled its much-anticipated music at the Gauhati Press Club on Thursday.
Directed by Kenny Basumatary and produced by Sarmistha Chakravorty, Jiya has already garnered significant acclaim, securing four awards, including Best Film at the recently held Prag Cine Awards.
The film’s music has also been recognised, winning the Best Singer Male award for Angarag Papon Mahanta and the Best Background Score award for Ambar Das.
Showcasing his remarkable composing talent, Das has infused the film’s soundtrack with soul-stirring melodies expected to captivate the audience’s hearts.
“I aimed to capture the emotional intricacies of the story, infusing each melody with resilience and hope while reflecting the unexpected twists that make the film truly captivating. It was a privilege to contribute to bringing this tale to life through music,” he said.
The soundtrack of Jiya offers a rich blend of emotions and melodies, providing a glimpse into the soul of the film.
Standout tracks include Xopun Xopun Loga, featuring the mesmerising vocals of Angarag and Sarmistha, and Ei Xadhu, a poignant duet sung by Shankuraj Konwar and Sarmistha.
The soulful songs, composed with meticulous attention to detail, are now available across all leading streaming networks, including YouTube and Spotify.
