Guwahati: The Assam State Selection Trials for Pickleball concluded successfully recently at the Pickleball Club at Basistha in Guwahati.
The event was organized by the Assam Pickleball Association under the aegis of the Indian Pickleball Association.
The tournament is graded as PWR200 (Pickleball World Rankings) where players will earn World ranking points.
The trials were conducted to select players who will represent Team Assam at the upcoming Pickleball Nationals, scheduled to be held from November 13 to 16, 2025, in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The two-day event, which was held on October 4 and 5, witnessed the participation of around 80 players from across the state, competing in 12 different categories across boys, girls, men, and women divisions.
The high level of enthusiasm and sportsmanship displayed throughout the event reflected the growing popularity of Pickleball in Assam.
The results of the Assam State Selection Trials 2025 were announced following the successful conclusion of the two-day event. In the Boys U-16 Singles, Ayyan Rehman emerged as the winner with a score of 11–7, while Aditya Bikram Kaman finished as the runner-up. In the Girls U-16 Singles, Prapti Baruah clinched the title after a close 11–10 victory over Nayeem Hussain.
In the Men’s Singles Open category, Aditya Bikram Kaman secured the top position by defeating Swagat Baruah 15–5. The Men’s Singles 30+ title went to Rajat Sarda, who beat Aayush Agarwal 15–6, while in the Women’s Singles 30+, Anangsha Alomyan triumphed over Manaswinee Hazarika 11–8.
In the Mixed Doubles Open, the pair of Rajat Sarda and Anangsha Alomyan lifted the trophy after defeating Jonaied Toshif and Manaswinee Hazarika 15–4. The Men’s Doubles Open title was claimed by Parth More and Swagat Baruah, who overcame Mayukh Talukdar and Jonaied Toshif 15–10.
Among the senior categories, Dr. Madhurjya Baruah won the Men’s Singles 40+ title against Rohan Abraham (11–7), while Nazneen Rahman captured the Women’s Singles 40+ crown by defeating Babita Mohan Langthasa (11–6). In the Men’s Singles 50+ division, Mridulal Barkakoti beat Bulbul Das (11–8), and the Men’s Doubles 50+ title was won by Bipul Kumar Talukdar and Shahnawaz Zaffar, who prevailed over Tiken Chandra Basumatary and Hyder Ali Rymbai (11–9). In the Men’s Singles 60+ category, Amlandeep Das secured victory against Mridulal Barkakoti with a score of 11–9.

The Assam Pickleball Association extended heartfelt appreciation to all participants, coaches, and officials for their active involvement and cooperation.
The selected players will now undergo specialized training and preparation ahead of the national championship in Bengaluru.
