Guwahati: The Assam State Election Commission on Tuesday issued the official notification for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) General Elections, setting the stage for polls across 40 constituencies in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
According to the notification, the election process begins immediately, with nominations open until September 2.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on September 4, and the final list of contesting candidates will be published on September 6, which is also the last date for withdrawal of candidature.
Polling will be held on September 22 from 7:30 am to 4 pm.
Fresh polling, if required, is scheduled for September 24, while counting of votes will take place on September 26, starting at 8 am.
The entire election process will conclude before September 28.

With the issuance of this notification, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect across the Bodoland Territorial Region.
The Commission has directed returning officers to issue public notices in accordance with election rules.
The Bodoland Territorial Council comprises 40 General Council constituencies, including seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes, open seats, and non-ST seats.
The elections will be held under the Bodoland Territorial Council (Election) Rules, 2004.
