Guwahati: Aspiring vocalists from the Northeast are in for a rare opportunity as celebrated Bollywood and reality show singing sensation Padmanav Bordoloi gears up to conduct a Vocal Masterclass in collaboration with the NERIM Group of Institutions.
The masterclass is scheduled for July 3 and 4, followed by a Cultural Event (Malhar) and Certificate Distribution Ceremony on July 5 at NERIM Group of Institutions, Jayanagar.
The master class will be open for participants in the age group of 5 years to 35 years, and will be divided into two batches – Beginner (Foundation) Course and Advanced Course.
The sessions are curated to train and mentor young singers from the Northeast, equipping them with professional vocal techniques and exclusive tips to grow and compete in national-level singing reality shows like Indian Idol, SaReGaMaPa, and more. The sessions will be held from 12 PM to 4 PM, and are limited to only two batches to ensure individual attention and quality learning.
Padmanav Bordoloi, a powerhouse of talent from Assam, rose to national fame as a finalist on Indian Idol (2007) and SaReGaMaPa (2013).
In 2016, he became the second male singer from Assam to be nominated for the Global Indian Music Academy (GIMA) Awards for his debut Hindi composition “Teri Jo Baatein Hain”. His track, the first Hindi non-film song by an Assamese artiste to be shot abroad, earned critical acclaim and wide audience love.
He has trained in both Hindustani and Western classical music, and his versatility spans singing, songwriting, composing, anchoring, and performing. With Bollywood playback credits and a Young Achievers Award (2008) under his belt, Padmanav aims to guide budding talent from Assam to shine on national stages such as Indian Idol, SaReGaMaPa, and more.
“Assam has immense raw talent. Through this masterclass, I wish to help participants unlock their potential with the right vocal training, performance skills, and tips to succeed in national-level competitions,” said Padmanav.
