Guwahati: Renowned Assamese singer Rajeev Sadia passed away on Monday while receiving medical care at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.
The artist collapsed on stage during a live performance the evening before, leading to a heart-wrenching turn of events.
The incident took place in Phillobari, Tinsukia, on Sunday evening as Sadia was mesmerising the audience with his powerful performance.
He collapsed mid-performance, sending shockwaves through the crowd.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that his condition was critical.
Medical professionals indicated that Sadia had been struggling with low blood pressure and a cardiac issue.
There were also concerns about a possible vein injury at the back of his neck, which could have aggravated his health complications.
Despite the best efforts to save him, the singer passed away the next day.
His death has cast a deep sadness over the Bhogali Bihu festivities in Assam.
