ASSAM: Assam shuttlers Bijoy Barman and Arup Buragohain will represent India at the prestigious ‘Ceylon Masters International Badminton Championships 2024’ in Sri Lanka.
The championship will be held in Sri Lanka’s Colombo from July 25 and 28. The duo will leave for Colombo on July 23 for the event.
Bijoy Barman will represent India in the 55 age category doubles and 50 age category mixed doubles events of the tournament. While he will partner with Buragohain for the doubles event, his mixed doubles partner will be Urvashi Thapa from Maharashtra.
Earlier, both represented India at the 2023 BWF World Championship in South Korea.
The flagship event, with a prize pool of USD 10,000 up for grabs, promises thrilling contests attracting top master shuttlers from across the globe.
The tournament will commence with the preliminary rounds on July 25 and 26, followed by the quarter-finals and semi-finals on July 27. It will culminate with the finals on July 28.
The tournament offers competitions for diverse age categories – 35 to 75, and combined age categories for 100 plus, 110 plus, 120 plus, 130 plus and 140 plus across men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events.
