A defensive driving and road safety awareness programme was conducted across various stretches of the Majirgaon–Palashbari project to promote safer practices among motorists, equipment operators and pedestrians.
As part of the initiative, specialised defensive driving training sessions were organised for drivers and heavy equipment operators engaged with the project.
Participants were briefed on key road safety norms and best driving practices, including maintaining safe following distance through the 3-second rule, adhering to speed limits, and ensuring the use of helmets and seat belts.

The sessions also focused on defensive driving techniques aimed at anticipating potential hazards and reducing the risk of accidents.
In addition to the training programmes, road safety marches were held at multiple locations along the project corridor to spread awareness among the wider public.
Pedestrians and motor vehicle users were sensitised on issues such as pedestrian safety, proper use of footpaths, controlled driving speeds and the importance of protective gear.
Officials said the programme was designed to encourage responsible road behaviour and build a strong culture of safety among all stakeholders associated with the project, with the broader goal of reducing accidents and improving overall road safety in the area.
