Chirang: The much-anticipated Gunotsav 2025, an initiative aimed at enhancing the quality of education across Assam, officially commenced in Chirang district on January 20.
The three-day event, which runs until January 22, is part of a statewide effort to assess and improve educational standards, involving a total of 915 schools and over 64,677 students from the district.
On the second day of the initiative, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Assam’s Minister for Handloom, Textile & Sericulture, Soil Conservation, and Welfare of Bodoland, as well as the Guardian Minister for Chirang, visited several schools to oversee the proceedings and engage with both students and faculty.
The minister visited Borobazar H. S. School, Borobazar KGVB, and Charagaon MES, where he interacted with students and teachers, gaining firsthand insights into the ongoing educational reforms under Gunotsav.
Accompanying Brahma on the visit were Chirang District Commissioner Jatin Bora and Additional Deputy Commissioner i/c Bijni (C) Kriti Chachra.
The officials toured the schools to offer their support and ensure the successful implementation of the initiative.
Their presence underscored the government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and outcomes in the region.
Gunotsav 2025 is an important step in the government’s ongoing efforts to assess school performance, address challenges in the education sector, and ensure that every student receives quality education.
