Guwahati: The 2nd Edition of the North East Renewable Energy & Electric Vehicle Expo (NEREVE 2025), organised by the Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) in association with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), was inaugurated on Friday at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.

The three-day expo brings together leading companies, innovators, policymakers, and startups to accelerate clean energy adoption in the Northeast.

Inaugurating the event, Assam Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary lauded FINER for creating a platform that aligns with India’s green growth agenda.

He highlighted the Northeast’s strategic role in renewable energy development and encouraged entrepreneurs to leverage emerging opportunities in solar, wind, hydro, and electric mobility.

In his opening address, Bajrang Lohia, President, FINER, shared India’s significant renewable energy achievements, with total installed RE capacity crossing 505 GW, and noted the sharp rise in EV adoption, with passenger EV sales doubling in 2025.

He said through NEREVE 2025, FINER aims to strengthen collaboration, showcase innovations, and promote sustainable industrial growth in the region.

Representatives from DPIIT addressed the gathering and outlined key Government of India schemes that support clean energy, EV manufacturing, and industrial advancement in the Northeast. They emphasised the importance of building a strong ecosystem for startups and MSMEs in the sector.

Bhaskar Kakoty, Chair, NEREVE, appreciated the support of DPIIT, IOCL, exhibitors, and participants, and reiterated FINER’s commitment to promoting a green and resilient energy future for the Northeast.
