Guwahati: The Manas National Park & Tiger Reserve, located in Assam’s Baksa district, will officially reopen its gates to tourists on September 27, marking the beginning of the 2024-25 ecotourism season.
A notification issued by Chief Conservator of Forest & Field Director of Manas National Park, Dr. C Ramesh read, “This reopening of Manas National Park & Tiger Reserve for 2024-25 ecotourism season from September 27 follows the completion of the stipulated monsoon closure period as prescribed by the Government of India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).”
The park’s operations will comply with the relevant provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 and the Assam Wildlife (Protection) Rules, 1997 to ensure the conservation of its wildlife and ecosystem.
As per the notice, the park will remain closed for visitors on every Wednesday during the 2024-25 ecotourism season.
Meanwhile, World Tourism Day will be observed at the Manas National Park on September 27.
The event is being organized by Assam Tourism Department in association with Boroland Tourism.
Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallahbaruah will grace the event as chief guest, while Pramod Bodo, CEM of Bodoland Territorial Council, will attend the event as the guest of honour.

Assam’s Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve will reopen for tourists on October 1 after the monsoon break. Sonali Ghosh, Field Director of Kaziranga National Park, said that only three ranges of the park will open for tourists with jeep safari facility.
