GUWAHATI: Excitement fills the air in Guwahati as preparations intensify for the debut of the Assam LitArt Festival on February 17 and 18 at the Royal Global University.

Promising to be a celebration of literature, art, filmmaking, music, and crafts, the festival is set to elevate the cultural landscape of the region to new heights.

Award-wining versatile actor Adil Hussain headlines the star-studded lineup, joined by a constellation of luminaries from Assam’s vibrant arts scene, including music maestros Zubeen Garg and Joi Barua. Renowned Bollywood action director Shyam Kaushal is also expected to grace the event.

Speaking to the press, Proyashi Barua, Founder and Director of Assam LitArt Fest, said that it is the first festival in the country that celebrates literature, art, filmmaking, music and crafts in one platform.

Informing about the festival’s mission to foster collaboration and creativity among Assam’s artistic community, she adds, “This festival marks a milestone in celebrating the rich tapestry of Assamese culture and its contributions to the artistic landscape of India.”

Co-Founder and Joint Director of Assam LitArt Fest, Jyotsna Neog, highlighted the symbiotic relationship between literature, art, and filmmaking, underscoring the festival’s role in propelling Assamese entertainment onto the national stage.

Under the theme of “Celebrating Plurality of Expressions”, the festival promises a diverse array of activities, including enlightening sessions, engaging panel discussions, immersive workshops, captivating book launches, captivating art exhibits, and soul-stirring music and cultural performances.

With the esteemed presence of Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, to inaugurate the event, the Assam LitArt Festival stands poised to usher in a new era of creativity and collaboration, leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of the region and beyond.
