Guwahati: The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati successfully managed 1,202 flights, ensuring smooth operations for passengers, during the 10-day period this month.
In a statement, the Adani Group-controlled facility said that the airport facilitated the travel of over 1.74 lakh passengers, comprising both domestic and international travellers.
The company stated that LGBI Airport recorded its highest passenger count of the year for the year on November 14, accommodating over 20,413 passengers and 146 aircraft traffic movements.
In the same festive week, the Guwahati airport recorded the second-highest passenger movement on November 10, when the terminal served 20,016 passengers with 131 flight movements.
The LGBI Airport achieved its highest-ever international passenger traffic in October, serving 7,651 passengers with 104 aircraft traffic movements,” the statement said.
The airport manages an average of 17,500 passengers each day with 127 ATMs on regular days.
“The smooth and seamless passenger movement of over 1.74 lakh travellers is a testament to the dedication and hard work of all the airport stakeholders, including AAI, CISF, Immigration, Customs, airline partners and the LGBI Airport team,” the company said.
In February 2019, the airport was given on lease for 50 years’ ownership to Adani Group, at the highest bid of 160 per passenger.

As of February 2024, international flights in the airport are operated by Drukair from Paro to Singapore, as a connecting flight, and by Thai AirAsia to Bangkok–Don Mueang.
It is the primary airport of North-East India and the 12th busiest airport in India. The airport has many facilities to give passengers and visitors a smooth and hassle-free experience.
