Guwahati: Assam’s renowned Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve will reopen its Bagori Range from September 26, marking a special addition to the festive season.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday announced that the Kaziranga’s Bagori Range will welcome visitors starting September 26, offering nature and wildlife enthusiasts an opportunity to experience the park’s rich biodiversity once again.
“In order to enhance your Puja celebration experience, we are pleased to announce the opening of the Bagori Range (Limited Circuit) of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve from 26th September 2025,” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X.
CM Sarma added that the park’s Kohora (Central) Range is expected to reopen in the second week of October, while the popular elephant safari will resume from November 1.
“We invite every one of you to celebrate the season amidst the rich biodiversity and natural beauty of Assam’s pride, Kaziranga,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Manas National Park reopened for the 2025–26 tourism season on September 24. The reopening began with an awareness rally from the first gate of the Bansbari range to the park’s main entrance.
The ceremony was led by Bodoland Territorial Council’s Forest Department CHD Suman Mohapatra, who urged tourists to explore the park responsibly.

Both Kaziranga and Manas National Parks, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, are home to rare and iconic species such as the one-horned rhinoceros, wild water buffalo, golden langur, and Bengal tiger.
