Guwahati: The Indian International Performing Artists Consortium (IIPAC), a distinguished organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the diverse heritage of arts, culture, and literature, is all set to host the inaugural Founders’ Day celebration of its initiative Kalasamanvay on April 26.

The event, promising to be a vibrant confluence of artistic excellence and cultural introspection, will be held in Guwahati and feature an engaging lineup of performances, tributes, and scholarly presentations.

At the heart of the evening will be the presentation of the ‘Kalasamanvay Lifetime Achievement Award’ to three towering figures from Assam who have made indelible contributions to their respective fields.

Kirti Kamal Bhuyan will be honoured for his outstanding contribution to literature, Pulak Banerjee for his achievements in art and culture, and Damodar Prasad Bajaj for his unwavering commitment to social service.

These awards aim to recognize individuals who have significantly enriched the cultural and social fabric of the region.

The occasion will be graced by Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury as the chief guest, while Dr. Usharanjan Bhattacharjee and Manisha Hazarika will grace the event as guests of honour.

Adding depth to the celebration, the program will feature a research-based group musical performance centered on the compositions of legendary composer Salil Choudhury, exploring the essence of Raga music embedded in his works.

This will be followed by a group recitation by young performers, delving into the philosophical themes interwoven in the poetry of Rabindranath Tagore and Jyotiprasad Agarwala.

Another artistic highlight will be a visually captivating dance drama illustrating the vibrant hues and emotional richness of summer.

The evening’s main attraction will be a soulful performance by renowned Bengali singer Sreeradha Bandopadhyay, whose presence is expected to mesmerize the audience.

Speaking about the event, the Secretary of IIPAC shared the vision behind Kalasamanvay:“This evening is going to be more than a performance; it is an exploration, a celebration of the analytical and creative dimensions that shape our cultural expressions. Through thoughtfully curated presentations and performances, we aim to highlight the vital role of research, introspection, and reinterpretation in keeping our cultural legacy alive and relevant in the modern world.”

Echoing a similar sentiment, the President of IIPAC added: “It is our endeavor to inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation of the rich artistic heritage we have inherited. We believe that by reflecting on our roots, reimagining our practices, and reaffirming our values, we can collectively retain and rejuvenate the legacy of Indian culture for generations to come.”
