Jorhat: In a bid to raise awareness about career opportunities in the Indian Air Force (IAF) and encourage youth from the Northeastern region to join as Agniveervayu, a mobile publicity van was flagged off on Friday.
The publicity van was jointly flagged off by Abhijit Gogoi, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jorhat, and Group Captain NK Chabba, President of the Central Airmen Selection Board, New Delhi.
The IAF Publicity Van will traverse several districts in Assam—including Jorhat, Sivasagar, Charaideo, and Namrup—as well as Tirap and Longding districts in Arunachal Pradesh, spreading awareness about the various career opportunities in the force. The campaign is scheduled to culminate on January 26 at Longding.
The registration window for joining the Indian Air Force (01/2027 batch) is open from January 12 to February 1, 2026. Interested candidates can register online at www.iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in.

The movement and coordination of the Publicity Van is being overseen by Wing Commander A Muralidharan, Commanding Officer of the 11 Airmen Selection Centre, Guwahati, ensuring smooth execution of the campaign across the region.
