Barpeta (Assam): Guardian Minister of Barpeta, Chandramohan Patowary, expressed confidence in the transformative potential of the “Gunotsav” programme, describing it as a catalyst for an “internal revolution” in the district’s education sector.
During his visit to Barpeta on Wednesday, Patowary inspected the arrangements for Gunotsav 2025 by visiting three schools—Dalahati Jr Basic School, Paramesh Talukdar U M Vidyalaya, and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya.
The three-day initiative is being conducted across 2,058 schools in the district, involving 2,30,842 students.
Accompanied by District Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha, Additional District Commissioner (Education) Jayanta Bora, and other officials, the Minister engaged directly with students at each school.
He inquired about their aspirations and encouraged them to work toward becoming productive citizens.
“Gunotsav will enhance the learning process, improve the school environment, and boost students’ confidence,” Patowary stated during his interactions.
He also urged teachers and guardians to closely monitor and guide students, ensuring their academic and personal development.
The Minister emphasised the importance of extracurricular activities, advising students to develop their talents alongside academics.
At Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Patowary joined the students for a mid-day meal, describing the experience as “heartwarming” and a testament to the nurturing environment in schools.
