Guwahati: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Thursday inaugurated ‘Project Yuva Bhagidari’, organized by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) North Eastern Region, at the K.B.R. Auditorium in Cotton University.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Acharya said that India is a country, which is a symbol of unity in diversity, and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) further strengthens this bond of unity.

Established in 1948, NCC has built its identity as a vast organization upholding the values of discipline, service, and patriotism.

Acharya also said that the journey of NCC has given a new direction to the lives of millions of young Indians. “I believe that NCC is not just an organization but a mission dedicated to the service of the nation. Today, as we speak of strengthening the foundation of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and New India, the role of NCC becomes even more significant,” added the Governor.

He expressed his happiness at the large number of cadets associated with NCC in Assam. He also shared happiness over the good number of cadets nearly 18,000 female and 29,000 male who are giving NCC a fresh outlook.

He highlighted the importance of Project Yuva Bhagidari in empowering youth and promoting nation-building.

The Governor said that the project aims to expand the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and encouraged NCC cadets to become ambassadors of cleanliness.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to make India clean and healthy, citing the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as a people’s movement.

Acharya further urged the cadets to participate with full enthusiasm and dedication in the campaign, emphasizing the importance of youth power in shaping India’s future.

He congratulated the cadets for being part of this meaningful initiative and called for collective efforts to build a clean, healthy, and developed India.

The project’s key objectives include creating awareness about cleanliness, enhancing communication skills and campaign strategies, and fostering community engagement.

It may be mentioned that Project Yuva Bhagidari has been conceptualized and designed to create a mass movement on specific community development issues like Swachh Bharat.

The aim of the project is to carry out social service and community development engagement by NCC cadets as educators and monitors to create a mass movement on the Swachh Bharat Mission.
