Guwahati: In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility in Assam, the Hans Foundation (THF) and the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Assam State Branch (ASB), inaugurated the Hans Renal Care Centre at Red Cross Hospital in Guwahati.
This state-of-the-art dialysis unit will provide free-of-cost, high-quality renal care services, bridging a critical gap in healthcare access across the region.
Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya inaugurated the renal care centre.
The event also witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including A K Absar Hazarika, Chairman- Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Branch, Sandeep J Kapur, CEO- The Hans Foundation, Padmashree Ajoy Kumar Dutta, Vijay Jamwal, Senior Director- The Hans Foundation, and several others, marking a pivotal moment in Assam’s healthcare development.
The Hans Renal Care Centre is designed to serve as a lifeline for individuals grappling with chronic kidney disease.
Equipped with state-of-the-art dialysis technology, it prioritizes marginalized communities, providing essential care services free of charge to address the growing burden of chronic kidney disease.
This initiative is the result of a strategic collaboration between The Hans Foundation and the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Assam State Branch.

In addition to the Hans Renal Care Centre, the event also marked the inauguration of the Red Cross Physiotherapy Centre.
This facility offers comprehensive rehabilitation services for individuals with physical disabilities, injuries, or chronic conditions. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and staffed by experienced physiotherapists, the centre focuses on holistic care to enhance patients’ quality of life.
