Guwahati: The Food Corporation of India (FCI), Divisional Office, Jorhat, in collaboration with Jagannath Barooah University and Jorhat Quiz Forum, successfully organized a Quiz Competition on Friday (October 31) on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025.
The event aimed to promote the spirit of transparency, integrity, and ethical conduct among students, in line with the theme of this year’s observance — “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
The competition, which was held in the auditorium of Jagannath Barooah University, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and quiz enthusiasts. The quiz covered diverse topics such as general awareness, ethics, governance, and FCI’s pivotal role in ensuring national food security.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Bidisha Baruah, Manager (Vigilance), FCI Jorhat, who emphasized FCI’s commitment to upholding probity and transparency in all its food security operations. She highlighted how such awareness initiatives foster vigilance not just as an administrative practice but as a personal value system in every citizen.
Subhasish Sarmah, Dean, Student Affairs, Jagannath Barooah University, appreciated the collaborative initiative and lauded FCI’s efforts to involve academia in promoting integrity and civic responsibility among youth. He noted that sensitizing young minds on the importance of vigilance helps build a foundation for a corruption-free society.
The quiz was conducted by members of Jorhat Quiz Forum, known for their contribution to promoting knowledge-based events in the region. The rounds were intellectually stimulating, combining questions on current affairs, governance ethics, and public accountability with engaging interactive elements.
After several rounds of intense competitions, the Team comprising Jonak Nath & Hrishikesh Borthakur emerged as the champion, followed by the Team comprising Anuj Chetry & Akankhya Bora as the runners-up.
The winners were felicitated with trophies, certificates, and prizes sponsored by FCI Jorhat Division. Analjyoti Sharma, Manager (F&A), FCI Jorhat, delivered a vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to Jorhat Quiz Forum, the University authorities, participating students, and all attendees for making the event a grand success.
