Guwahati: As global business leaders and political figures gather in Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026, a young entrepreneur from Assam has represented the voice of Northeast India at the prestigious event.
Drishti Medhi has created history by becoming the first woman from Northeast India to attend the WEF Annual Meeting as part of the elite Davos 50 Delegates group. Her achievement has brought pride to Assam and the entire Northeastern region.
Medhi is the co-founder of QuickGhy, a technology-led platform designed to bridge market access gaps for India’s blue-collar workforce, particularly indigenous and grassroots communities from the Northeast. Her work focuses on simplifying trade, improving employability and strengthening skill development using digital tools and artificial intelligence.
The platform uses an AI-powered recommendation model to help traders make informed decisions about commodities, while also addressing gaps in skills, training and empowerment among blue-collar workers.
An electrical engineering graduate and member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, Medhi’s journey has been shaped by a strong commitment to inclusive growth. Through QuickGhy, she aims to ensure that workers from underserved regions are not excluded from India’s rapidly expanding innovation and trade ecosystem.
Her focus on technology development and inclusive growth aligns with India’s broader vision of emerging as a global innovation hub, while also highlighting voices from regions that have traditionally remained underrepresented in international trade discussions.
Quick Ghy Private Limited has established its base in Guwahati with the aim of catering to the city’s growing demands through a digital platform. The company has partnered with the Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) under the Government of Assam to enable job seekers to enrol in certified courses across multiple sectors. These training programmes help interested candidates acquire relevant skills and later integrate them into the company as service partners.
QuickGhy promotes a user–service partner model by providing a platform where individuals can list their services online and connect with potential clients. Beyond its business operations, the company is also focused on developing itself as a multipurpose platform offering a wide range of services.
Medhi has previously been recognised as one of the top women entrepreneurs from Northeast India by the US Consulate, Kolkata, and among the top innovators in the country by the Government of India. She is also a Bir Chilarai Awardee, the highest honour bestowed on NCC cadets by the Government of Assam.
Also sharing the platform at Davos is Ishan Pratap Singh (22), a civic entrepreneur from New Delhi and founder-chairman of Cooperation17, a global social startup working around the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Singh is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and one of only 40 young leaders worldwide selected to attend the WEF Annual Meeting this year, representing India.
