Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu on Wednesday launched “Nipun Mitra”, an AI-driven app designed to assist educators and researchers.

The app was unveiled by the Education Minister during the inauguration of a national seminar at Dispur College in Guwahati.

The app Nipun Mitra has been designed as a comprehensive resource for education professionals, offering valuable information on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), the Nipun Bharat Mission, and the Nipun Axom Mission.

He said, “The app enables teachers to create lesson plans specifically focused on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), thereby improving learning outcomes for primary school students. It also supports multiple languages, including Assamese and over 100 global languages, making it more accessible to users.”

Nipun Mitra, developed by Barpeta-based educator Prasanjit Sarma, has been hailed as a transformative tool bridging policy and practice.

Hailing Sarma’s contribution to integrating AI into teaching, the minister called the app a “milestone in Assam’s journey toward educational excellence.
