GUWAHATI: In a celebration of cultural diversity and artistic expression, Assam down town University (AdtU), in collaboration with SPIC MACAY Guwahati Chapter, recently hosted a captivating performance of Traditional Naga Dance by the Kuyingpong Culture Society.
The mesmerising dance, characterised by rhythmic movements, intricate footwork, and ornate traditional costumes, enthralled the audience with its portrayal of themes centred around valour, hunting, and the celebration of community life.
“We are honoured to have witnessed such a remarkable display of talent and cultural exchange. This event underscores our commitment to embracing and promoting the rich heritage of our region,” stated a spokesperson for the university.
This cultural extravaganza follows the university’s recent engagement with Dr Kiran Seth, the founder of SPIC MACAY, who graced the institution with his presence in January.
Dr Seth’s visit sparked a spirit of cultural enrichment and educational collaboration, culminating in a felicitation ceremony attended by Vice Chancellor Dr NC Talukdar, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Pranveer Singh, and Dean of Studies Prof. Bandana Dutta.
During the event, representatives from both SPIC MACAY and Assam down town University shared their perspectives and visions for fostering cultural vibrancy and enhancing educational initiatives.
Dr. Seth’s visit has left an indelible mark on the university community, inspiring a renewed commitment to promoting cultural awareness and fostering academic excellence.
As the university continues to embrace its role as a hub of cultural exchange and learning, events like these serve as a proof to its dedication to holistic education and community engagement.
