GUWAHATI: Assam down town University recently celebrated Rabindra Jayanti with a vibrant event organised by the Music and Dance Club on the university premises.
The occasion marked the 163rd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, drawing students, faculty, and staff members together for an evening of cultural immersion and artistic tribute, on May 8.
The celebration showcased a diverse array of performances, reflecting the deep impact of Tagore’s literary and philosophical contributions.
From soul-stirring musical renditions to expressive dance performances and poignant poetry recitations, participants paid homage to the Nobel laureate’s multifaceted genius, reaffirming his status as a timeless icon of creativity and humanism.
The event commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. Manashi Sengupta, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, who set the tone for the evening by highlighting the enduring relevance of Tagore’s work in today’s world.
