GUWAHATI: Assam down town University (AdtU) and IBM have joined forces to equip students with essential IT skills essential for success in the modern job market.
The partnership, announced during a grand launch event at the University campus in Guwahati on Monday, seeks to address the growing demand for professionals proficient in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data science, and predictive analytics.
The collaboration with IBM will integrate specialised programmes into the university’s curriculum.
This includes the establishment of dedicated computer labs equipped with IBM software, the development of industry-aligned coursework, and instruction led by IBM subject matter experts.
These initiatives aim to cultivate a skilled future workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of the IT sector.
“We are thrilled to announce that Assam down town University has partnered with IBM to introduce new programmes in B.Tech CSE (Data Science & Deep Learning), BCA, and MCA (Data Science & AI), BBA (Data Analytics). It’s a great opportunity for students to gain cutting-edge skills in collaboration with Industry Leaders,” said Dr Utpal Barman, Dean, Faculty of Computer Technology.
Dr. NC Talukdar, Vice Chancellor of AdtU, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting its transformative potential for students.
“This collaboration is a game-changer for our students,” Dr Talukdar remarked. “By working with IBM, we are ensuring our graduates possess the critical skills needed to excel in today’s dynamic IT landscape,” he added.
In addition to empowering students with hands-on learning experiences and globally recognised credentials, the collaboration will also benefit faculty development at the university.
