Guwahati: Assam down town University successfully hosted the second edition of EduElevate – Northeast Educators Conclave on December 6, 2025, at Radisson Blu, Guwahati, bringing together leading educators, industry experts, academicians, and policymakers to discuss emerging trends in student development and the future of higher education.
The conclave began with an inaugural ceremony and lamp lighting by distinguished dignitaries.
This was followed by a keynote address delivered by Dr. Dimpy Mahanta, Head and Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, Cotton University, who highlighted the critical role educational institutions play in strengthening student well-being.
The first panel discussion—moderated by Dr. Manjusha Deka Saikia, Associate Professor in the Programme of Psychology at Assam down town University—focused on institutional practices for supporting student mental health.
The panel featured eminent experts including Prof. Saswati Choudhury, Acting Director, Omeo Kumar Das Institute of Social Change and Development; Dr. Mythili Hazarika, Clinical Psychologist and Associate Professor, Guwahati Medical College; social entrepreneur Arup Kumar Baishya, Acumen Fellow (India Spring 2025 Cohort); and Sandeep Gulia, Zonal Academic Excellence Director (North and East), LEAD Group.
The discussion emphasised awareness-driven policies, clinician-led interventions, compassionate learning environments, and community collaboration to ensure holistic student well-being.
The second panel, moderated by Dr. Sunandan Baruah, Director of Innovation, Startup and Acceleration at Assam down town University, explored the theme Future-Proofing India’s Workforce: Aligning HEIs with AI-Driven Job Markets and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Panelists included Rohit Gupta, Co-Founder, College Vidya; Ankit Shyamsukha, CEO, ICA EduSkills; Rajiv Agarwal, CEO, EduVerse; Manish Kumar, AVP – Customer Success, Meritto; and Prasenjit Chanda, Deputy General Manager and Project Head, L&T.
They discussed the need for AI-integrated curricula, technology-enabled learning systems, stronger industry linkages, and skill-oriented education models to build a future-ready workforce.
The conclave concluded with the presentation of the AdtU Excellence Awards to distinguished educators and contributors, followed by an expression of appreciation and a vote of thanks. The event ended with a networking lunch that enabled participants to exchange ideas and explore collaborative opportunities.
